I HAVE ALWAYS BEEN A MOPAR GUY,MOPAR OR NO CAR...... THRU THE YEARS I HAVE OWNED ABOUT 80 MOPARS. SOME GOT SOLD AND OTHERS WERE USED FOR PARTS.
I OWNED A 72 RALLYE (340 AUTO) CAR FOR 27 YEARS. IT WAS SOLD AFTER FINALLY BEING RESTORED.
THEN MY QUEST TO FIND ANOTHER CHARGER R/T BEGAN. I HAD OWNED A 68 CHARGER R/T IN THE LATE 70'S AND WOULD HAVE LIKED TO HAVE ANOTHER ONE OF THOSE BUT THE BODY AND OVERALL COOLENSS OF THE 71-72 CHARGER BODY WON OUT ON MY CHOICE.
I CAME ABOUT MY VIP CAR THRU A MUTUAL AQUAINTANCE AND STRUCK UP A DEAL. SOMETIME LATER IT WAS IN MY DRIVEWAY. THEN I STARTED TO FIX ALL THE INCORRECT ITEMS ON THE CAR. WHILE DOING THE DEAL ON THE CAR WE WERE GOING OVER THE CODES AND FOUND THAT MY R/T WAS BUILT ON MY BIRTHDAY (A 11), NOT ONLY THAT BUT IT IS AN (R) LETTER DESIGNATION ON THE VON THAT MEANS IT IS A SPECIAL ORDER MAGAIZNE OR TESTING AND A Y 28 CODE LABELING THIS R/T AS A COMPANY CAR/PUBLIC RELATIONS VEHICLE.
THIS ONE IS ALL MATCHING NUMBERS AND WAS REPAINTED IN 2000, I METESICOUSLY DETAILED THE ENGINE BAY AND WENT THRU THE 440 MAGNUM.
IT STILL HAS THE ORGIONAL SPARE GOODYEAR GT IN THE TRUNK. I DRIVE THE R/T ALOT IN THE BETTER WEATHER HERE IN MICH. I EVEN TOOK THE R/T ON VAC, THE CAR DRIVES SO NICE AND IS A BLAST TO DRIVE, PEOPLES COMMENTS ARE LIKE "WOW WHAT YEAR IS THAT CAR". I ALSO DO SOME CARS SHOWS DURING THE SUMMER.
