I was raised in Hauppauge, Long Island, New York. In 1970 I was married and
in my early 20's when my then husband and I purchased a 1969 Dodge Charger
R/T 440. I loved that car. In the late 1960's and early 70's all our friends had
muscle cars. That was the norm back then.
Through the years my husband and I became very successfully. He had one of
of the largest body shops in Suffolk County, Long Island and I was an accountant.
We were able to puchase brand new cars every two years. But as many high end cars
that I owned the 1969 Dodge Charger had always been my favorite.
I have two wonderful children. In 1985 when my son turned 16, I located a 1969
Dodge Charger SE 500 with a 440 engine in mint condition. I purchased the car for him
against my husband's advise-to much power for a sixteen year old. He turned out
to be right. Three months later he total car.
In 2006 I retired to Punta Gorda, Florida and puchased a 1972 Dodge Charger
Rally from Texas. Car was a matching number with Broadcast Sheet and all
original documents. In April of 2009 I sold car at Barret-Jackson Auction in
West Palm Beach, FL. due to making some bad real estate investments. I
was crying on stage as car was being auctioned.
With in a short time after auction I sold some of my real estate. I have looked
for over a year and half for the right Dodge Charger (1969-1971). When I
saw this 1971 Dodge Charger Super Bee in excellent condition, I knew right
away this was the car for me. I had car shipped enclosed from Georgia, and
two days after registering car here in Florida, won first place at car show. I
will have this car forever and then my son will inherit the car.
