This car was built, to the specifications of Motor Trend Magazine, very early in the model year run. It was never meant to be sold to the public. A man saw the car in the December 1970 issue of Motor Trnd Magazine and went to his local Dodge dealer, Swift Dodge of Sacramento, CA, and told them that he wanted the actual car in the magazine. He did not want to order one, he wanted that specific car.
Mr. Swift called Detroit and was told that the car was for Company marketing use and not for sale. The customer and Mr. Swift persisted and, over the next month, many calls were made to Detroit. Finally, Chrysler said they would ship the car to Sacramento if the customer paid in full before it was dispatched.
Payment was made, in full, at the end of January 1971 and the car was shipped in May for delivery to the customer. The build sheets that accompany the car are clearly marked "Attenton All Supervisors - Motor Trend Magazine", and the first owner is Chrysler Corp - Public Relations.
The car is a Hemi Super Bee with Automatic Transmission and Super Track Pack. It also has an Air Grabber Hood with Pins. Rally Dash, Bench Seat with Column Shift, G-60x15 Goodyear Polyglass with RWL. It also has, unusually, an interior hood latch cable. The mileage is 30,600 and it is in original condition.
